US military uses ceramic coatings on weapons
Invisible Guns
The US army is experimenting with ceramic coating to make weapons invisible to infra-red light. When viewed through night-vision goggles, guns are invisible when coated with a unique ceramic coating. Effectively, it is then impossible for the enemy to determine whether a soldier is armed - which could make the spit-second difference between life and death for US servicemen.
